Much Is Often Not Enough

Updated: Apr 21, 2023

One of the fundamental principles for learning, changing, thinking, and ultimately revising behavior and results, is repetition. Even much of something good is often not enough. What do I mean?

Exposure to the most brilliant ideas is insufficient to produce great results. Learning something new and worthwhile usually requires multiple exposures to a lesson, a behavior, or an idea. Then repeating it and applying it multiple times, with a little gap between applications for thoughtful examination and reflection.

That's a key ingredient!

By routinely practicing and engaging in reflection, you allow yourself time to see patterns, internalize them, and integrate ideas and principles into your everyday process of living and performing productively. You become empowered to act with greater clarity of purpose and consistency.

And when you do act, you put in motion the mechanisms for developing habits of thought and behavior that produce higher level results, predictably. Continual exposure to something new, combined with follow through reflection and action, produces more impactful relationships, experiences and results. Routinely. Develop the discipline of reading, listening and observing useful information not just once, but repeatedly. Saturate your mind and allow yourself to become one with it. You will find yourself making decisions and taking action that elevate the quality of your performance and the quality of your life.
